Elementary

The Program

At Squamish Montessori School, we take pride in offering an authentic Montessori program that strictly adheres to the teachings of Dr. Montessori. Our program is meticulously designed to ensure a seamless continuation of the foundation laid in the early years, thus providing a consistent approach to education.

Our school provides an enriching learning experience for elementary students. Their minds are constantly challenged through research-based projects and collaborative work in small groups. Our Montessori guides are AMI trained and guide the students towards activities that foster reasoning skills and a well-rounded education.

The Elementary Environment

The elementary environment is designed to foster independence in students, allowing them to become less reliant on their Guide. By gradually moving towards more abstract learning, students gain confidence in their understanding of concepts and expand their knowledge in new and exciting ways. Through their own efforts and discovery, they are empowered to take control of their own learning journey and achieve their full potential.

Students have the freedom to work at their own pace and choose how they complete assignments based on their interests. They work on projects individually or in small groups, which promotes creativity and critical thinking. This provides engaging lessons that encourage research-style activities.
